MATCH DAY: MAC Football Academy VS Thornbury High school

It was a tale of 2 halves!

Our MAC boys were confident they were going to get a win against Thornbury High. Our MAC boys were strong and resilient in the first half whilst coming under multiple attacks and fast breaks from the Thornbury faithful. Samuel was solid at left back, which allowed the speedy Kadir to have multiple mesmerising runs on the left wing but was not rewarded with the ultimate goal of beating the keeper. The first half ended with Thornbury scoring from a MAC midfield blunder on a fast break.

Lead by Furkan, Farhan, Hussein and the super sub Sirak the MAC boys re-grouped and were ready for the second half. Tactical changes were in order. Jama was instructed to play up front, which allowed Sirak to have the freedom to assist the strikers. Matthew found himself in a new role at right back along side the solid Hussein. Furkan and Farhan continued to work tirelessly in the midfield with Sirak. Late in the game Sirak found Jama with a through ball which then found the back of the net.

Final score 1-1.

The MAC academy boys played exceptionally well, but still have plenty to improve on.
