MATCH REPORT - SEDA College

26 Jul 2017 by Antony Keely

MAC Football Academy travelled to JJ Holland Park to play their second fixture against SEDA College Talented player program. SEDA comfortably accounted for MAC in our first encounter so MAC was keen to right a few wrongs.

Samatar Ali put his hand up to coach the side and did a wonderful job. This selfless attitude set the tone for a good day at the office.

MAC kicked into a strong breeze in the first half and competed hard closing down countless SEDA attacks. Hussein Abdi constantly rallied the troops with excellent leadership, allowing MAC to play a more structured defence.

Mohamud Ibrahim Kadir Erkan Akin and Matthew Bonifacio began to take control in the midfield and soon MAC generated some chances. Michael Lesanwerk, who is making a habit of being in the right place at the right time, popped up to score after a wonderful cross from Furkan Erkan Akin. MAC trailed 2-1 at the break.

MAC went quickly down 3-1 before staging a strong fight back. First, Nik Sirko launched a wonderful ball to the advantage of Furkan Erkan Akin who gathered the ball and scored with little fuss. A wonderful corner ball followed this from Kadir Erkan Akin who found the head of Michael Lesanwerk, for the goal of the day!

Unfortunately a lapse in concentration allowed SEDA to score the winner, but it was a massive improvement on the previous encounter.

Final Score – MAC 3 V SEDA 4

Goals – Michael Lesanwerk 2 & Furkan Erkan Akin 1

Best Players – Hussein Abdi, Mohamud Ibrahim, Kadir Erkan Akin, Mohamed Jama, , & Matthew Bonifacio.
